Caldeira Velha: Tickets, Thermal Pools and Tour Planning
Caldeira Velha is a thermal natural monument on the north side of the Fogo volcano. Availability and admission must be checked on the official ticketing site; on AzoresLand’s Lagoa do Fogo routes it is optional and must be requested when booking.
What is Caldeira Velha?
Caldeira Velha combines geothermal features, thermal-water areas and an environmental interpretation centre on the northern slope of the Fogo volcano. It is a managed visitor site, not an unplanned roadside swimming stop.

Visit or thermal bathing?
Confirm which ticket and experience you want. Bathing requires more time than a short interpretation-centre visit and must fit the wider route. Availability can be limited, so do not assume an optional tour stop guarantees entry.
Which AzoresLand tours can include it?
Caldeira Velha can be added to the Lagoa do Fogo Half-Day Tour when requested at booking. It can also be requested on the Sete Cidades and Lagoa do Fogo Full-Day Tour.
Admission is not included in either product. The stop, ticket availability and timing must all be confirmed before payment.
Plan the timing properly
Send the booking request before buying a separate ticket so the time can be checked against pickup, viewpoints, lunch and return. Bring what you need for changing only after the bathing plan is confirmed.
